Autumnrose, I am encouraged to learn that somebody from Britain should have that experience. However, in my experience most British people are happy to wear their filthy shoes in the house and would frown if they were asked to take them off at somebody else's house.
I am so bothered by this that I felt the need to devote a blog to the subject:
Every time I try to do one of these, my laptop overheats and shuts off. I was chatting with Carla on MSN last week and she was helping me put one of these together when it shut off.
Well, after a little bit of nagging, I've opened up the comments to all. I thought it wise to have a little helpful guide to decorum at the pink blog.
Firstly, I'd appreciate it, if you post under 'anonymous', if you would at least leave a name at the bottom of your comment. I don't let people in my house if they don't tell me who they are, and I'll delete comments from anonymous drive-bys at my blog.
Secondly, I have no problem with you disagreeing with my posts, but please try to do so agreeably. I try and keep my comment threads moderated with a very light hand, but I do have my limits, and visitors are guests. I will challenge views that are just inaccurate and unfair. I don't always have time to get involved in discussions, but I do read all comments. No swearing, no blasphemy, and no snide comments about Dr Who being camp sci-fi (this means you, Mr Turk).
Finally, I'm a conservative reformed baptist Christian home-schooling mum. I am completely ok with you not being one of those (this also means you, Mr Turk), so feel free to comment.

It's very clean.
The image does not appear to be wearing shoes in her home, so it gets my approval.
Waaaaay! I love it, Libbie!
Who wears shoes in the house anyway, not if you want to keep your carpets clean! (Although I do tend to wear slippers from time to time ;)

Shoes Off at the Door, Please
Hey, what happened to the Bible?
Coffee break, I guess...
I do like it...
Well, I usually read my bible with a cup of coffee by my side of a morning, but sadly you can only have one animation at a time, lol.
I've had to wrestle it back from my daughters this morning who thoroughly enjoyed making themselves in meez form. The joys of technology :-D
Coffee...not TEA ! Oh Libbie! :)
I'm busy blogging now, rofl!
You look happy, but... step away from the cliff with that baby!
Too much time on your hands...but just the right amount of baby. :-D
awwww, cute...
Is that Rueben?

Kim, I had the same problem at first, so I switched browsers, and it hasn't been a problem since.
