I know a few atheists. Some are aggressive and unpleasant, and some are reasonable people. My dad is an atheist who has softened to my faith over the years. I have an atheist friend who started by overt mockery of me as a creationist Christian, and has gradually turned from simple mockery to asking questions like "OK, even if I did accept there was a God, it wouldn't mean I had to worship him, would it?"
To which my response was "Mike, you're negotiating. That's interesting..."
Now The World's Most Famous Atheist(tm) Richard Dawkins has claimed he actually is a Christian - just a cultural one.
You know, I read that and had a chuckle to myself. The savvy and arrogant professor Dawkins completely missing that, by continually exposing himself to what he considers cultural Christianity - by singing those carols, and hearing things from scripture at Christmas time - he's leaving a chink of his closed mind open.
This Christmas, I'm going to earnestly pray that he, and other 'cultural Christians' like him, will find that the Almighty God has slipped in through that chink and woken their spirits up to reality. I know who I serve - Dawkins, bless him, doesn't have a clue how the Most high God works. And he's not dead yet, so there's still hope!

Go on, this Christmas, pray for an atheist!

Those who say there is no God have a greater faith really, in that they believe all that is the universe, including human beings came from nothing. Or they may say there was a single ball of gas and it exploded, and "Wah-Lah" a billion years later we have people. But where did that thing come from that exploded is my question.
Incredible faith here.
Nice post. Pray for God's mercy upon atheists like Dawkins, and Hitchens. Amen.
Hi
I'm probably one of the abrasive ones, but I thought you might appreciate my take on the whole Christmas thing:

Tsk tsk. That's rather an offensive first paragraph greg, if you are refering us to the Bible Thumping Grinch post (I had difficulties with the link). I couldn't get past the anger and language of that 1st para, so didn't bother with the rest.
I pray the Lord may reveal his power and mercy to you this Christmas.

Just a warning to readers - Greg's post is rather laden with offensive language, so very much parental advisory, if you know what I mean.
If you've had any interaction with atheists, it will be as you expect. Proceed with caution :-)
Greg - thanks for the link, I've commented on your blog there.
Amen, I have wondered myself if it would ever please God to save a man like Dawkins. It would be no less miraculous than our own conversions. Just imagine a newly saved Dawkins giving a lecture comparing the different creationist views of Cornelius Van Til and Henry Morris!
